Greetings FOBA. Here is a list of a few of my professional activities as it pertains to Covid-19.
– Just completed my first term as Clinical Services Manager of the Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA). Where I oversaw and managed the daily clinical operations (all wards including Operating Theater, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Sterilization Departments at Scarborough General Hospital (SGH).
– Interact with all levels of staff and patients alike.
– Part of the Operations Steering Committee that prepares the SGH for Covid patients including outfitting of negative pressure hospital rooms that will insulate and contain the virus from the rest of the hospital and prevent community spread.
– Acted as Chairman of the Operations committee of SGH and TRHA.
– Contributed to and co-authored the Disaster Preparedness and Management Plans of TRHA and SGH.
– Part of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) panel as a TRHA representative to appraise hospital staff on covid-19 precautionary procedures.
– Sat on the Covid-19 Committee of the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development (DHWFD) that was established and chaired by the then Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) which also included the Health Secretary of THA. This Committee organized and managed Tobago’s national resources in response to the Covid-19 outbreak.
I also assist a small school on St. Paul Street (St. Martin’s Welfare Association Early Childhood School) in East POS, with medical grade masks for the children when they return to school in September 2020.
And I am a member of Friends of the Port of Spain General hospital which is a charitable/ outreach organization that distributes hampers to families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
